What is a Private Diner Club?
A private dinner club is group of people who share similar interests in food and wine. Dating back to the Paleolithic times,
people would gather together sometimes once a year in ritualistic form to enjoy companionship between clans and share the
fruits of the hunt. But in recent times, traditionally, many dinner clubs have formed by group of close friends who travel between
homes and share in food and wine and good friendship. Over the years this has developed considerably into what we know now
as private dinner clubs.
A private dinner club is a membership based social club created by people who share interests in great food, and good wine.
Those interested in becoming members must be invited by or referred by existing members. By referring potential members
or inviting potential members, the club maintains is social nature. Although people often request a membership in order to
meet new people who share in their same interests.
How often does the club meet?
As a rule, the club never requests all of its members gather a one social function. But rather the club management will provide
monthly opportunities for the membership to gather. As a member, you can expect a minimum of one fine dining event each month.
You can also expect at least one wine related even each month. In addition to the food and wine events you will find other events scheduled,
including holiday gatherings or even afternoon tea.
I like to play cards, do you have a card group?
When developing our ideas for the dinner club we hadn't thought about card groups but when the membership applications
started to come in we saw requests for card groups. So in the near future you will see card groups forming. Most will be weekday
morning groups, like bridge or pinochle. But as requests are made, we will figure out how to make them happen.
Do I have to come each month?
No you don't. We hope to have enough activities going on that you will want to come each month or more but you don't have to.
Some private dinner clubs have monthly fees to agree to pay. These charges are in place to encourage your attendance and help
the club create a minimum stream of revenue. Monthly charges help to keep services consistent and to also helps to promote the
growth and development of the club. For at least the first year we will not have any monthly fees. And if we rise to the challenge and
create enough fun and attractive events we won't have to.
The club benefits mention that I get one night of complimentary lodging, do I personally have to use this?
Again, No. You do not have to use this night. You can give the night away to a friend or family member who is coming in
to town to visit you. Or you can use this for business if you have a client coming in to town. You can also exchange this for
other valued amenities. For example, a wine tasting may have a fee if the event is not sponsored by a winery or distributor.
You may exchange the night of lodging for complimentary passes into the wine tasting.
The complimentary night of lodging is subject to our standard lodging policies. Which means you should read them before
making your reservation. The big policy restriction that you find effecting your reservation the most is that during the summer
and fall months and major holidays, any reservation made on the weekends must be for at least for two nights. This is a
mandatory restriction and cannot be changed. We have no minimum night restrictions for off season rooms.
Can I bring friends?
Absolutely yes. You can bring as many people to events as you wish. As long as the club member is joining them.
Can I come for breakfast?
Yes, but you must call ahead to ensure availability. Preferably at least the day before. If there are no over night guests
in the Inn, than we may not be serving the next morning.
